Tyler Simpson is an Executive Vice President at Pegasus Capital Markets. His focus is the Debt Capital Markets, specifically working with existing and new PCM clients on the sourcing of new debt to facilitate the acquisition, refinance or development of assets across the Real Estate spectrum including both Residential and Commercial.
Prior to Joining Pegasus Capital Markets, Mr. Simpson was the Director of Capital Markets for PPM and has worked exclusively in the Private Credit space for over five years. In various roles he has overseen the origination of over $500mm of loans, focusing on bridge debt to facilitate both transitional/value-add and ground-up development in the residential and multi-family sectors as well as assorted small-balance non-residential assets.
Mr. Simpson's career previously included time at Nomura Securities, Deutsche Bank, J.P. Morgan Securities, PennyMac and Oaktree Capital with roles ranging from sales and trading of Credit Derivatives and structured-products including agency and non-agency MBS, CDOs, and CMBS. Following the financial crisis in 2008, Mr. Simpson focused on the distressed loan world, overseeing the valuation, trading and asset-management of tens of billions of non and sub-performing Whole Loans for clients in the Alternative Investment space as well as the FDIC, FHLB, members, rating agencies and mortgage insurers. Additionally, Mr. Simpson worked extensively in litigation consulting, representing the issuers of Structured Products and Mortgage Servicers.
Mr. Simpson received a B.S. in Finance, from Lehigh University in 2001 and previously held his FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses.
