Peter Kay is a Director of Leasing at Pegasus Asset Management where he is responsible for the oversight of leasing the company’s management portfolio. Mr. Kay oversees the management of the firm’s retail leasing brokers across the country, implementing creative leasing strategies, while managing property reporting, detailed market information and general retail trends in each property’s respective markets.
Prior to joining Pegasus Asset Management in 2020, Mr. Kay worked as a Senior Leasing Manager for Macerich (NYSE: MAC), a Santa Monica based, publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trust and one of the country’s largest owner/operators of retail shopping centers. At Macerich, he was responsible for leasing over 2 million square feet of retail property at Lakewood Center in Lakewood, CA. Prior to Macerich, Peter spent three years as a Leasing Manager for Terramar Retail Centers, where he oversaw the leasing of the firm’s Los Angeles county portfolio of shopping centers.
Before transitioning to his in-house leasing position at Terramar, Mr. Kay enjoyed over 10 years as a retail leasing broker with Wilson Retail Group (acquired by Jones Lang LaSalle in 2015), where he represented shopping center owners and developers. In his years spent at the Wilson Retail Group, Peter initially served as a retail specialist, eventually being promoted to the level of Vice President. Throughout his capacity at Wilson Retail Group (and later, Jones Lang Lasalle after Wilson was acquired), Peter was responsible for leasing approximately 2.5 million square feet of space comprised of neighborhood, regional, mixed-use and promotional shopping centers.
Mr. Kay received a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Radford University in 1996 and currently resides in Studio City, with his two children, Lila and Oliver.
